People all around the world have been celebrating the start of each new year. Today, most New Year’s festivals begin on December 31 (New Year’s Eve) the last day of the Gregorian calendar, and continue into the early hours of January 1 (New Year’s Day). Common traditions include attending parties, eating special New Year’s foods, making plans for the new year, and watching fireworks displays.  The Chinese New Years is also called the spring festival.

The Chinese New Years is a traditional holiday. The Chinese New Year is a time for families to be together. Wherever they are, people come home to celebrate the festival with their families and friends. The New Year’s Eve dinner is called “reunion dinner”, and is believed to be the most important meal of the year.

Zohour Kouda said, ¨I hold a flag, and just wave it around, and I bring a cake with the year on it.¨

Karla Landeros  said, “Well, I go to my grandpa’s house and then we set up a movie. The kids watch a movie while the adults cook. Once the adults are done cooking we go eat, and in a little bit we go out for the count down. Then we go finish eating, and we finish the movie we were watching.¨

¨I go outside and hide pants outside, and we eat mashed potatoes and gravy.¨

Cho Cho, you are quite the prolific writer. Keep churning them out. By the way, are you the same writer that wrote the lovely article about my favorite animal, the dolphin?
