Granite Park takes part in the fun of the NCAA men's basketball tournament

March Madness found its way to Granite Park.

Teachers competed in a NCAA Tournament bracket challenge and students are learning what all the craziness is about. Granite Park Librarian Mr. Curran has been teaching students about filling out their own brackets. Curran and Zamora have been posting tournament brackets around the library.

Intern Vice Principal Hutchins created bracket challenge for the staff. He was also on the official staff that was doing statistics for the first round of the NCAA tournament that was held here in Salt Lake. Ms. Bowers and Ms. Vreeken tied with 182 points to win the bracket challenge.

The national championship game was held Monday, April 3. The North Carolina Tarheels beat the Gonzaga Bulldogs 71-65. It was the third national champoinship.

    So. was it only the Tarheels’ third national championship? And why do you think Gonzaga lost? And here’s a trivia question: What is the Utah tie to Gonzaga?
